Ubisoft has announced plans to add NFT to its games, starting with Ghost Recon Breakpoint. Needless to say, if you’re already interested in cryptocurrencies and blockchain applications, you know NFT; It was only a matter of time before these irrevocable tokens were also used by the giants of the gaming world.
Ubisoft will add NFT;s to games with the Ubisoft Quartz initiative. Ubisoft Quartz is described as “the first platform for AAA games playable and energy efficient NFT;s”.
Quartz will beta this week for the PC version of Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon, allowing players to purchase Digits of vehicles, weapons and equipment parts for the game. These Digits will be cosmetic products that combine AAA-quality visuals with the excitement of having an NFT.
Each Digit will have its own serial number, and players will be able to sell Digits on third-party platforms outside the Ubisoft ecosystem. That’s the common purpose of NFT;nfts, selling rare NFT;s for cryptocurrencies at high prices.
Ubisoft Quartz will use Tezos as a blockchain.
