Ubisoft has decided to move the upcoming Rainbow Six esports tournament to “another region”.
Fans started a petition on social media after the company announced it would hold Six Majors in the Capital of the United Arab Emirates because the country criminalized homosexuality.
Ubisoft posted a statement on Twitter saying that it initially chose Abu Dhabi for game fans in the MENA region.
“We want to stress that the safety and well-being of the participants, staff and staff of our event has always been our primary concern. That’s why we decided to move the Six Major in August 2022 to another Rainbow Six Esports region, although its exact location is not yet clear.”
