The transition to the new generation in consoles is a bit painful, both due to the shortage of device stocks and the frequent postponement of games developed for the next generation due to the pandemic and the update in game prices, I suppose?
One of the issues that can be seen as a problem is the upgrade of the games purchased for the older generation to the new generation. Of course, it’s frustrating that Sony doesn’t offer free upgrades to 1st party games.
Fortunately, at least for now, such a policy has not been adopted by Ubisoft. FarCry 6 has been confirmed once again that purchasers of the PS4 or Xbox One version of the game will be able to upgrade to the PS5 or Xbox Series version of the game at no cost. It doesn’t matter if you’ve got a boxed version or a digital copy of the game, you’ll have that opportunity anyway. For those of you looking forward to Far Cry 6, you might say it’s good news, right?
Hopefully, other firms will adopt such a policy, offering free upgrades to games for both generations in the coming period.
