Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot said in an earnings interview with investors that the company would remain independent and review any acquisition offers.
Guillemot said via VideoGamesChronicle: “We’ve always tried to make decisions in the best interests of the players. Ubisoft can move on as an independent studio. For this we have the ability, financial scale and a large portfolio of original IP. If there was an offer to buy us, the board would of course review it in the best interests of all stakeholders.
We have high-value IPs. We are committed to staying independent and doing better in the future. We have the workforce, technology, IPs and communities to do that.”
Finally, Guillemot stated that Ubisoft will continue to reach players on all platforms.
