On the invasion of Ukraine, we began to see some of the most comprehensive relief campaigns in the gaming world. One of these fundraisers was Epic Games, which raised $36 million on the first day. The developer, who announced that he would donate all proceeds from Fortnite by April 3, raised $50 million on his second day.
Of course, this huge donation was also heard clearly from Ukraine. Ukraine’s Deputy Prime Minister Mykhailo Fedorov thanked Epic Games in a tweet from his official Twitter account. Epic Games knows that “human life is not a game,” the manager said, adding that support is critical to them.
Proceeds from Fortnite are transferred to major charities such as Direct Relief, UNICEF and the UN World Food Programme.
