[ In our weekly Unforgettable Soundtracks column, we remember together the soundtracks that do not leave our memories, leaving deep traces and sweet memories in all of us. ]
The Bioshock series is one of my favorite series. Although the fact that the original team will not be out of the hands raises a question mark, I am also looking forward to the next game. One way or another, Bioshock, I think it’s going to be one of those series that keeps getting talked about.
After all, we’ve accumulated a lot of memories in each game of the series, there’s plenty more material to talk about. As the second part of Bioshock Infinite’s supplement, Burial At Sea, was over, many more were added to these memories for me. One of them, of course, was that he did it with that piece that I couldn’t get enough of listening to the finale.
Courtnee Draper – You Belong To Me
A Kiss To Build A Dream On, performed by Louis Armstrong in Fallout 2, was one of the tracks I featured in our Unforgettable Soundtrack series, and maybe some of you remember. There wesay, “Sometimes we want to go through credits, inter-scenes, fast. This wasn’t one of those moments, of course.” The first track we started this series was Late Goodbye by Max Payne 2, which we listened to in the credits that flowed at the end of the game. You see, I’m obsessed with the opening and closing parts:)
For me, one of those pieces was You Belong To Me. At the end of the play, when Courtnee Draper, who voices Elizabeth in the play, makes a slight entrance to You Belong To Me with her sweet voice, the flow of time seems to slow down for a moment. While she was quietly reading the song, I had already immersed myself in the beauty of this moment:
In fact, we were hearing this piece on the radio in the game, and I loved it at the time. You know how sometimes you come across pieces like that in the game and you want it not to end, that’s exactly what happened to me. In scenes like this, if I can, I’d rather listen until the song’s over; The same was true here, the taste of the piece was in my palate. Maybe that’s what made me so happy when I heard it in the finale. What I said on the radio, “I wish” was in front of me in the finale, so what else!
As a result, as the credits flowed, I enjoyed finishing another beautiful game, and this beautiful song. Don’t games add color to our lives with these scenes anyway?
