[ In our weekly Unforgettable Soundtracks column, we remember together the soundtracks that do not leave our memories, leaving deep traces and sweet memories in all of us. ]
As we started our unforgettable series of soundtracks, I looked again at the messages that we exchanged ideas with Eser. “I’ve always been sick of the triggering of one’s memories with music, andwhat we listened to when we were little is in our minds,” he said. How right…
That’s exactly what we had in mind when we started this series; to share with you the music that triggers our memories and is in our minds. Among the parts we have shared so far have been parts that we have integrated with a game character that we love very much or an important scene in that play, and those that appeal to our liking in general.
Today, I wanted to remember and remember a game that I love very much. I will try to do this again in accordance with our format, of course; Taking a journey towards our memories with that fun theme music reminiscent of Monkey Island…
Michael Land – Monkey Island Theme Music
In the past, in the heart of the hay… In remote, faraway lands, there was a type of game called point-click adventure, and there was a community of players who liked this type of game very much. There’s a company called LucasArts that’s famous for these games, which makes you say, “Whatever comes out of the sea, whatever comes out of Lucas Arts is played.” One of the famous games of that famous company was Monkey Island.
The series, which tells the adventures of Guybrush Threepwood, one of the most diverse pirates you’ll ever see, is adorned with absurdities that can cause cramps in your stomach from laughter, without neglecting the sentimentality in between. After all, our hero Guybrush is also in love with Elaine Marley, and Elaine is not empty against Guybrush, 🙂 On the one hand, the love of these two, our troublemaker LeChuck on the other hand, that’s not enough, guybrush’s clumsiness, incompetent crews, the wednesday of nine months with all sorts of setbacks, on the other hand, we’ve had so many fun, so enjoyable adventures that with Monkey Island, of course, it’s going to have a different place in our hearts.
We’ve embarked on all these adventures with a piece worthy of this series, my dear Gamers. The theme music, which had a very sweet, distinctive rhythm, seemed to hide the mischief of the series somewhere between the notes:) (Of course, it’s not the only piece in my mind in the entire series; Whether it’s The Scumm Bar or A Pirate I was Mean;t to Be, it has music I enjoy listening to; but since the beginning was with this piece, I wanted to give it a favor:))
I didn’t realize at first that this theme music was going to be so in my head, but over time, it got so ingrained in me that every time I listened, it would bring back all my memories of Monkey Island. In fact, it’s not just about Monkey Island, it’s about the beautiful old days, all my memories of those beautiful old adventure games, where they were kept and said, “Where are those old tables?” he’s made me say. I wanted to share it with you today when I’ve brought back memories like this. Who knows, maybe it’ll be a way for you to step into this series.
By the way, it is possible to say that it is a popular track not only for me, but also for many gamers and musicians. I’ll share 2 covers as a bonus, and you’ll have to explore the rest:)
