Open-world co-op survival craft valheim has sold more than 6.8 million copies since it was made available early on Steam on February 2, 2021.
Embracer Group, the parent company of publisher Coffee Stain, expects the game to sell another 1 to 1.2 million by the end of June.
Embracer Group said they owed valheim for its successful performance in the financial quarter and that the game had the potential to turn into a series.
“Coffee Stain had a record quarter, inspired by Viking culture, which was greatly influenced by the huge success of multiplayer survival Valheim. Iron Gate has been a truly incredible creation and we would like to thank players around the world for their support. Valheim has become one of the most successful games ever on Steam.”
