Riot Games has announced details about the first official VALORANT World Championship. The final event, the VALORANT Champions Tour, will be held in Berlin 2021, where the best teams in the world will compete to become VALORANT World Champions.
During 2021, teams from around the world earned tour points at Challengers and Masters events. Teams like the Sentinels and KRÜ Esports dominated their regions, securing their place in the Champions. At the end of all this competition, the final of the 2021 VCT Season, which will take place from December 1st to 12th, will be the stage for the competition of 16 teams. The final event will have 12 teams qualifying throughout the season and four that beat last chance qualifiers in October.
Riot Games said in a statement: they wanted to organize all international events in a different region, but with the increasing difficulties caused by COVID-19, they had to change their plans. “Our priority is to organize a safe and global event that VALORANT fans around the world will enjoy,” riot games said, noting that Europe’s travel policies facilitate the invitations of players from VCT regions and the participation of qualifying teams.
THE VALORANT Champions Tour continues at full speed with its third Masters event of the year. Teams advanceing to the Masters will compete on September 10-19 to earn a direct-to-champions ticket by collecting the final VCT points of the season and achieving victories. After Masters Berlin, last chance qualifiers will be played in October and teams will be given one last chance to take part in the Champions.
