Prior to the launch of its new handheld computer, the Steam Deck, Valve released CAD files that will allow players to print the device’s outer layer as a 3D print. After the Steam Deck 3D print file was shared open, Valve said in a statement:
“Today we make CAD files available for download under Creative Commons license for the outer shell (surface topology) of the Steam Deck. These files include an STP model, STL model, and drawings (DWG) for reference so that the Steam Deck can be printed in 3D. We can’t wait to see what the community creates.”
Where can you obtain Steam Deck 3D print files?
Just click on this link to download the files. Sharing the file has already been welcomed by modists and mechanics. As Valve has previously stated, you have the right to open your Steam Deck and do whatever you want with it. However, we strongly recommend that you leave such procedures to professionals. Because any damage during these operations will not be covered by your warranty.
The Steam Deck will use a new version of Steam OS and will debut on February 25th with three different models: the 64GB eMMC model, the 256GB NVMe SSD and the 512GB NVMe SSD.
