The heat wave that has taken Europe by storm is expected to come to our country soon. Warnings have also begun to come from tech giants against unexpectedly warming weather, one of which is Valve.
Valve has released a hot-related briefing for Steam Deck users. The message from the Twitter account is as follows:
“For our friends in the midst of a heat wave, let’s make a quick note about Steam Deck operating at high temperatures. Steam Deck works best at ambient temperatures between 0 and 35 degrees. If the temperature rises above this, the Steam Deck will brake performance to protect itself.
Valve says the deck will continue to function properly at internal temperatures up to 100 degrees, but will brake performance to balance the heat at temperatures exceeding this, and when 105 degrees is reached, the system will shut down completely to protect itself and you. So if the devices suddenly shut down, the high temperature is responsible for this.
Nintendo issued a similar warning for Switch users, saying that air temperatures above 35 degrees could adversely affect the system and that the Switches could go to sleep.
In extreme heat, it is necessary to take care to use such handheld consoles carefully, so that the Switches, PSPs etc. in your hand do not cook at once.
