As you know, there has been a never-ending battle between the Team Fortress 2 community and Valve for some time. In recent weeks, players have organized a very peaceful protest, demanding that Valve take TF2 out of the hole it is in. However, when the expected explanations from Valve did not come, the community once again took action.
The most important modes of the game, Open Fortress and TF2 Classic, have been closed to download since September 2021. Behind the closure of these two modes, which turned the game into minus days, was a “deal” with Valve. Mod developers announced that they have started their services once again by expressing that Valve has remained silent on the situations.
There are similar explanations on the official sites of both modes. The duo, who Valve reached out to them and “asked” them to stop downloading, say the studio has promised them an official mode. In short, Valve would officially recognize both of these modes and allow them to debut on Steam. However, the fact that the developer did not keep his promise once again prompted the developers to take action.
What Valve wants from TF2 and its community is a matter of curiosity…
