The quarterfinal stage of the Vodafone FreeZone Championship League was completed with the series played on 14-15 August. GALAKTICOS and Besiktas reached the semifinals.
Galakticos faced Dark Passage on the first day of the quarterfinals. GALAKTICOS, which finished third in the league stage, was expected to win this series comfortably. Although galakticos kept expectations of a win, the score was the kind that surprised everyone. Dark Passage managed to steal two wins from its opponent but ended the season by losing the series 3-2. GALAKTICOS reached the semifinals.
On the second day of the quarterfinals, Papara SuperMassive Blaze faced Besiktas. The strengths of both teams were seen as equal. There was no clear favorite for the match. Besiktas side won the first two games of the series to make it 2-0. The Papara SuperMassive Blaze weighed in on the third and fourth games. With a 2-2 scoreline, the fifth and final game of the series was called. Besiktas were the ones who saw the Victory screen in the last match and won the series 3-2. Thus, Besiktas reached the semifinals for the first time since the 2016 Winter Season.
With Galatasaray Esports naming Besiktas as their semi-final opponent, the semi-final matches were announced. The first match of the semi-final will be played between Nasr Esports and GALAKTICOS on Saturday (August 21st). The second match will take place between Galatasaray Esports and Besiktas on Sunday (August 22nd).
