Raven Software creative director Amos Hodgehas shared with fans his frustration with the Warzone cheaters, one of the biggest problems for the game since the studio’s release. According to the broadcaster, the free-to-play battle royale game has been a huge success for Activision, which has attracted more than 100 million players since its release in March 2020.
But the popularity of the game has also made it a target for cheaters, and perhaps worse is the emergence of people selling these cheats. Speaking in an interview with VGC on the release of season 3 of the game, Hodge said he was sorry the scammers had “ruined some of the best work he’s ever done.”
Warzone director also complains about cheaters
He said, “The tricks are being handled by our security team.” “But I have to say, we have reporting tools, we ban a lot of people, and no one hates cheaters more than we do. We make this content for the players, and while you’re sorry that it ruined your game, I’m sorry they ruined some of the best work I’ve ever done in my life.”
Hackers are evolving

“I’ve prepared this game for the players and I know that’s how everyone on the team feels,” Hodge continued. “We put our hearts into this game, we have 100 million players, it’s been a year, it’s a huge stage and it bothers us more than anyone that cheaters are coming and ruining some of the best work we’ve ever done. I know the security team has overcome it and will be constantly making updates.”
Activision determined not to turn a blind eye to cheaters
Activision said in February that it was devoting resources to identifying and combating 24/7 cheating, including “aimbot, wallhack, trainer, stat hack and texture hack.” Since then, the company has made seven major bans against cheaters. He said there had been more than 475,000 bans in total since the launch on April 13.

Kostich said, “There’s a lot more manual reporting that we evaluate and look at every time.” Activision is also heavily fighting cheaters, one of the things players complain about the most in Warzone. “It is a comprehensive effort for us to make sure that we provide the best experience to the community,” Kostich said, stressing that the company’s work will continue.
