Although Warner Bros. Games Montreal has only ever been involved in games in the Batman series, the examples available to us provide an important reference for them. Following their debut game Batman: Arkham Origins, the studio also supported Arkham City, developed by Rocksteady, and was recently tasked with developing additional packages for Arkham Knight.
They had been expected to announce a new game for some time, even claiming that, like Rocksteady, WB Games Montreal was “developing a Superman game.” In recent months, it has been announced that the studio’s next game is the Gotham Knights.
But it wasn’t the only project the studio was working on; While work continues for the Gotham Knights, another game is being developed.
As shared by James Sigfield on Twitter; Megan Berry of WB Games Montreal appears to be working as artistic director on an un announced project alongside the Gotham Knights on her Linkedin account. The date on which he started working in this game is 2019.
Ade Esan, one of the studio’s game designers, appears to have mentioned the same project on his Linkedin account. But it is also noteworthy that he has left this post as of June 2021. This may be due to their focus already on the Gotham Knights.
Whether this project is about a Superman game, as has been raised many times before, or whether it is about another hero (or heroes) in the DC universe, we will now wait for the official announcement to get answers to these questions.
