Piranha Bytes’s new open world RYO;su ELEX II was released two days ago, march 1, 2022. Piranha Bytes is a studio with gothic and risen series in its history. With ELEX, they created a different universe and started a new series, but the game was full of bugs in its early days, as in every Piranha Bytes game.
In fact, in my 7 review, I used the phrase for the game: “You will either love or hate; I’m afraid that’s not the case with Piranha Bytes games. Maybe there will be a very good RYO in the future with patches, but I suggest you wait for the price to get cheaper to take this risk.”.
Indeed, the patches made the game a lot of man and ultimately gave the players a different role-playing experience. If you’ve also set your sights on ELEX II, you may have forgotten the story of the first game because it’s been going on all this time. Or I don’t have a lot of time for the first game, so just sum it up, and that could be it. So let’s remember (or find out) what happened on ELEX right away:
What Happened at ELEX?
ELEX tells a post-apocalyptic story set on a planet called Magalan. Magalan, home to highly technologically advanced civilizations, was hit by a comet, which destroyed almost the entire civilization. The rest of the people were divided into tribal-style groups and struggled to survive.
This collision also had an unexpected effect, a mysterious substance called Elex. This substance, called Elex, has a significant effect on the human body, and so people begin to cast spells; however, the side effect of overdosing on Elex is to become a callous being. That’s why tribal factions have different perspectives on Elex.
The faction, called Berserker, has completely rejected the technology, and they are using Elex to transform it into Mana. That’s how they get magical powers, but they believe they’re natural forces. They even grow World Heart plants that they believe cure the planet.
The Outlaw faction, as its name suggests, is a faction that rejects all kinds of laws, only to profit and live freely. They use all kinds of weapons and technology they can get their hands on without hesitation, doing wonders with scrap items. Elex is a powerful drug for them.
The Cleric faction believes in a god named Calaan, and although they are radical religiousists, they are also the most knowledgeable and technologically advanced faction themselves. They have a belief that their religion will save the world.
These three peoples, who call themselves the Free People, have a common enemy: the Albins, as elex tries to seize their resources, protect and expand their territory. In fact, the Albs used to be affiliated with the Cleric faction, but then they decided to use Elex directly into their bodies. As a result, they were extremely strong, but they both lost their feelings and their skin was damaged by it.
Because they believe in technology like clerics, they use the highest level of technology available in Magalan and act under the formation called Hybrid. Hybrid’s goal is to take over all the Elex on the planet and allow the Albs to move on to the next stage of evolution.
We play a character named Jax in the play. Jax is an Alb commander, and while he’s on a special mission, his plane is shot down by an unknown enemy, and he crashes into the mountain. Because he’s been unconscious for days, a significant portion of Elex in his body is depleted, and when he wakes up, he finds himself both weakened and feeling various emotions again. By meeting and working with Magalan’s factions, he learns how the Free People live, while trying to find out who attacked him on the day he crashed.
In fact, in most places in the game, we can shape Jax’s personality by making important decisions. By prioritizing his Alb personality and goals, we can make him a cold person, always approaching things with logic. Or we can act on the side of the Free People and become a more emotional character. But the end of the game, which we can call a canon, accepts the latter of these.
Jax recognizes the absurdity of the Alb;s motto that we must rid the world of emotions, and tries to unite the Free Peoples against the Albs by starting to fight against them. Ultimately, Jax manages to take down the Hybrid, bringing down the Albs” plans.
Hybrid, however, says elex consumption gives him the ability to communicate with an alien race, and that this alien race will come to Magallan before he pulls the strings. Jax is the only one who believes in his prophecy.
Here’s ELEX II, the game where these aliens will appear. The Free Peoples of Magallan, defeated by the Albs, mind their own business. Then one day he said, event; this purple veil that descends on all life leads to the emergence of Dark Elex. Now in Magallan, new hostile creatures are starting to roam. When one of these creatures attacks Jax and makes him sick, our new story begins. It is our duty to cure the disease and to bring the shattered peoples of the world together once again. And what we have to fight this time is an extraterrestrial threat.
Now we’ll write the rest before ELEX III.
