Our Whatever We Play series, which we took a break from due to a small COVID crisis last month, continues with the May 2021 version. We are slowly coming to an end in the years of procrastination in the gaming world, and the games we have been waiting for are preparing to make an overlap.
If you’re ready, let’s take a closer look at the games that await us this month without further ado:
May 7 – Resident Evil Village (PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series)
Perhaps one of the most anticipated games of the year, Resident Evil Village, will allow us to make a tremendous start to May. Already making a splash with Lady Dimitrescu, the game aims to bring us back to the roots of the series.
The new game, which will be very similar to Resident Evil 7, uses the same inventory system. This time, we’ll take on the role of Ethan Winters and find ourselves in a predicament. Ethan is one of the most unrelated characters in the series. That’s why we’d rather sneak out than fight enemies.
But ethan’s going to have some things on this adventure that he can use to protect himself. For example, we’ll be able to shop with The Duke, or even empower Ethan with dishes that give him certain buffs.
May 10 – Hood: Outlaws & Legends (PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series)

Obviously one of the most curious games of this month is Hood: Outlaws & Legends. In this game, which aims to melt PayDay and For Honor into one pot, we try to make the biggest heists of the middle ages by building our teams. But in this adventure, our enemies are not only artificial intelligence, but also other players who come to steal.
Hood: Outlaws & Legends, a member of the increasingly PvPvE genre recently, comes with characters with different characteristics. The maps will constantly change as two teams of four struggle to steal the treasure. This will allow players to constantly find new ways. The goal of both teams will be to get the vault keys from a giant boss named Sheriff. So you can take the treasure from the safe and move it to the safe.
Of course, it’s up to you to choose. You can attack the Sheriff by kicking in the doors, or you can do everything quietly. All that matters is getting the treasure chest safely to the safe zone.
May 14 – Mass Effect Legendary Edition (PC, PS4, Xbox One)
{ogzvideo|type:ytb|id:n8i53TtQ6IQ}
There are some games that everyone wants to go back to all the time. For example, as long as I think of it, I don’t hold back from playing the original Half-Life. But thanks to Black Mesa, I’m starting to enjoy the original game a lot more. And for Mass Effect enthusiasts, legendary edition promises tremendous things.
Regardless, as players, we’re getting our eyes on the next generation of graphics. So much so that some of the games that debuted 5-6 years ago are foreign to us. EA will carry the much-held RYO series Mass Effect to a new generation with a remake version called legendary edition. Even the trailer for the upcoming game with 4K graphics has already impressed many people.
Of course, since it’s about EA, we’d better not roll up our sleeves until we see the creek. Let’s see if mass effect legendary edition is going to be as good as we expected.
May 18 – Days Gone (PC)

Days Gone, which debuted on the Playstation 4’s farewell days, divided the gaming world in half. While some said the quality of the game was unbecoming of a PlayStation special, some enjoyed the game. Sony, which began flirting with PC users with Horizon Zero Dawn, will bring this controversial game to PC;
I can’t speak for you, but I can tell you that I’m looking forward to the game. The game, which I could not play because it did not have a console at the time of its release, is based on survival and crafting mechanics. We will rain down on zombies the weapons and ammunition we can produce with various items and try to save the world from its predicament.
Especially praised for the mechanics of the zombie army during its release days, the game can occasionally send thousands of zombies overhead at the same time. Days Gone, which will wipe the rust of our eyes with 4K 60FPS resolution, will also offer controller support on PC.
May 25 – Biomutant (PC, PS4, Xbox One)
{ogzvideo|type:ytb|id:wDehBmgbN4o}
To be honest, I believe the most “mysterious” game on the list is Biomutant. Biomutant, which we have heard of for a long time but cannot see itself, finally meets the players.
Based on The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, the game will offer us an adventure through the open world. In Biomutant, where we play as an animal in a fantastical realm, we will try to save our disappearing world. As far as we can tell from the videos, the game is set in a post-apocalyptic universe because we can see human structures. Whatever happened, humanity was destroyed and replaced by these creatures.
Biomutant, which adventure game enthusiasts are eagerly awaiting, will be with us at the end of the month. Let’s see if the game can afford this long wait.
