When we say the games we expect in the New Year, we can’t talk about the type of role-playing. In fact, this genre has changed a little too much in recent years, and almost every game now has role-playing elements, big and small. So which game goes into this genre and which one doesn’t, it’s getting really complicated. When I made the list, I chose to choose a little more traditional elections.
Otherwise, the Horizon: Forbidden West we mentioned in PlayStation games can also be included in this list, as can Elden Ring, which we mentioned in Soulslike games.
- What We Expect in 2022: Microsoft Games

Feel free to share what you expect, though, and let us remember this delicious species together.
In 2022, you can see all the lists we publish in the What We Expect file in bulk here.
Expeditions: Rome
For some reason, most people who see the name of this game think it’s a strategy game, but it’s wrong! Imperator: This game, which has the misfortune to be mistaken for Rome, is the third game in this series after Digital Artists; in Expeditions: Conquistador and Expeditions: Viking. In the game, which has been in development since 2013, we will play a young Roman who has been driven from his homeland and forced to join a legion, trying to prove himself in turn-based battles. Visually, it should not miss that it evokes Divinity: Original Sin at first glance.
Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong
We may have given up on Bloodlines 2, but vampire: The Masquerade isn’t the only game using the background, Swansong will come to our rescue here. Big Bad Wolf produced a very different game with The Council, showing that different decisions made were successful in the impact on the story. Moreover, we can say that they have experience in such matters as secret clans, organizations with their own agendas. Swansong can hopefully give us the feel of the original Bloodlines, we’ve longed for some pretty vampire games.

Starfield
Starfield would actually be able to put a lot of different categories. It’s open earth, it’s games in space, it’s science fiction. But it’s Bethesda Game Studios, which we call “Skyrim in space,” and I don’t think we could have picked a more appropriate category than Role-Playing Game. Starfield, who is one of the games that I personally wonder about the most this year, could be a game like Skyrim that can be played for more than ten years if he can deliver on his promises.

Broken Roads
Disco Elysium tells us, “This is what role-playing is all about; He made me say it. There was no war, no fighting, no role-playing, but we felt the elements of role-playing in our marrow. It was a great detail that different parts of our brain kept talking to us and directing our actions. Broken Roads is also a game that visually evokes Disco; but takes its real inspiration from the original Fallout. In this game set in Australia, our decisions and behaviors with the Moral Compass feature will bring us closer to the Utilitarian, Humanist, Machiavellian or Nihilistic psychological elements and gain abilities.

Hogwarts Legacy
I don’t suppose there’s anyone who likes Harry Potter and doesn’t expect this game. When you say hogwarts is a gigantic open-world role-playing game, there’s already running water. It’s also owned by Avalanche Software, the developer of Disney Infinity, but there’s very little information we’ve had about the game all this time. In the leaked footage, we saw our player learning spells, touring well-known areas of Hogwarts, interacting with different monsters. Rumor has it we’re going to play a student who transfers to Hogwarts from fifth grade. Since the story will take us 100 years before Voldemort’s release, the chief threat will be different. We won’t see the effects of J.K. Rowling in the play either, but it’s not hard to imagine that she’ll be true to the world and rules set up in books.
