The Witcher fan won the gold medal. Russian athlete Vitalina Batsarashkina won gold in the Air Weapons category at the 2021 Tokyo Olympic Games. But the most notable aspect of Batsarashkina was that she had the Witcher universe’s “School of the Cat” around her neck, just as she did during the 2016 Olympic Games.
Witcher fan wins gold medal, never takes necklace off her neck
Russian athlete Vitalina Batsarashkina won a silver medal at the 2016 tournament in Brazil with a Witcher medal on her neck. In fact, the glasses the athlete used in that tournament were witcher’s theme.
Vitalina Batsarashkina’s choice of necklace at the Olympic Games did not go unnoticed by CD Project Red, the maker of the Witcher games. Radek Grabowski, an employee of the company, officially congratulated the Russian athlete on Twitter.
Vitalina Batsarashkina’s medallion came to the attention of a Twitter user. Careful eyes caught the Witcher necklace over Batsarashkina after a Twitter user pointed out the Russian athlete’s pose while shooting.
Batsarashkina’s medallion belongs to Ciri. Although The Witcher was educated at the Wolf School alongside Geralt, Ciri was seen with a Cat School medallion around his neck during Witcher 3.
