World Of Warcraft: Shadowlandshas long occupied the minds of players through Sylvanas. Chains Of Domination, announced in February 2021, promised to reveal Sylvanas’ true purpose. In fact, it did, too, as the raid of the update Sylvanas Windrunner, who was waiting for us as the last boss of Sanctum Of Domination, explained his main purpose to Azeroth’s heroes before the fight began.

“The reality we live in is based entirely on the wrong foundations. I’ve tried to explain this many times, but now all you can do is watch him destroy it,” said Windrunner, who then engaged in a final battle with Azeroth’s heroes.
World Of Warcraft: Chains Of Domination end cinematics
In The Game Logic of World Of Warcraft, bosses are placed inside raids and fed into the story. Some updates usually end with a cinematic effect that directly affects the events in the story, raiding the end update of each package. Introduced as Sanctum Of Domination, an ally of Sylvanas and the main villain of the Shadowlands package, The Jailer attacked the city of Oribos, getting rid of The Maw, where he was imprisoned.
The Jailer, which invaded The Arbiter and the Oribos built around it, which was at the heart of the Shadowlands system, managed to get back “what was taken from him” from Arbiter, despite the players’ efforts to block it. Sylvanas, on the other hand, did not die, contrary to the expectations of many players, but betrayed Jailer. Taking what he wanted, Jailer left Sylvanas at the “mercy” of Azeroth’s heroes and moved on to carry out his own plans.
Death threat to story writer
That’s why Sylvanas didn’t die despite being presented as a raid boss, which confused the player’s ball. So much so that death threats were sent to people who wrote or contributed to the World of Warcraft story. Award-winning author Christie Golden, one of the contributors to the story of the play, wrote on Twitter thatshe had received death threats and blocked those involved .
Following Golden’s tweet, a large section of the community, creators and even the developers of World Of Warcraft reacted to the incident and supported the author. Christie Golden’s death threat came later.
“yes, I soon got my first death threat. I reported who did this, I blocked him and anyone who liked what he wrote.”
It’s not new for fans of a play, series or film series to insult or lynch people who contributed to the production when their expectations didn’t come true. However, this situation has become significantly more common in recent years, even as the issue (as in this case) can lead to death threats.
Social Media, especially Twitter, has recently become a place where serious intolerance, dislike of the work done and in all kinds of discontent lead to death threats. It is up to merlin’s boiler readers to decide how much of this is “true” and how much is “wrong”.
