As claimed by Bloomberg, the World of Warcraft mobile MMORPG game project, which has been in development for 3 years, has been canceled. The reason for this is said to be the financial disputes between the two developers Blizzard and NetEase. It was known that the mobile MMORPG game developed with the code name Neptune would be set in the WoW universe, but would be set in a different time period. Now the project has been cancelled.

NetEase, which published Blizzard’s games in the Chinese market, also handled WoW’s marketing in China. The new MMORPG game, developed under the code name Neptune, was also jointly developed by the two companies. NetEase is also the company that handles Diablo Immortal’s operations in the China region.
It’s also not the only WoW project to be canceled. According to Bloomberg, just like Pokémon Go, an AR (Augmented Realism) game has been canceled after a 4-year development process. This game, which was developed under the code name Orbis, was also among the games canceled after a long development process.
