Shadowlands new content update announced. Update name 9.2: Eternity’s End. Following a mysterious post on the World Of Warcraft Twitter account last night, we learned that a new chapter of Shadowlands’ story will be announced tonight at 21:00 BST.
With the announcement video released about two hours ago, we learned about the new territory of Shadowlands, raid and what’s new in gameplay. The previous update of Shadowlands was announced during Blizzconline 2021, in February.
Shadowlands new content update and new territory Zereth Mortis
Shadowlands’ 9.1 patch, Chains of Domination, ended with our enemy Zovaal the Jailer setting out to reset the Warcraft universe and us creating and waiting for the new Covenant Keys. Together with Eternity’s End, we will go after Zovaal and step into Zereth Mortis, the center of creation in the Warcraft universe.
The Enlightened, a separate faction of brokers we meet in the Zereth Mortis region and know from shadowlands’ previous story, will take us to an area called Haven. This will be the common area where players will spend time during the 9.2 patch. We’ll explore Zereth Mortis in more detail over time by developing a device called Cypher of The First Ones that we’ll find here.
Shadowlands new content update and new raid Sepulcher of The First Ones
Shadowlands is also coming with a new content update, of course, a new raid. In this raid, which will include 11 bosses, we will also fight Anduin Wrynn and some familiar Dreadlords under the control of The Jailer. Raidin’s final boss (at least as mentioned in interviews) will be The Jailer. So shadowlands’ story will end with players facing Zovaal (The Jailer).
But this raid comes with a highly controversial decision. Blizzard said the raid would end that week after the players defeated Anduin. So the other three boss raids we have to face after Anduin will open in the second week and the third week of the patch. Blizzard said it was a deliberate decision and would play an important role in the story flow.
Eternity’s End will also bring back “Tier Sets” that were removed from the game with Battle for Azeroth. Although the details of the system are not yet clear, players will eventually get the armor system they missed again. It was also announced that 2 Legendary Items can be installed at the same time with the new patch of Shadowlands. Finally, the right to increase the number of character boosts that can be purchased in the store has increased from level 50 to level 60, while the price has not changed.
Shadowlands new content update 9.2: Eternity’s End release date has not yet been announced.
