On the wrong tank design in War Thunder, a player went so far as to say that the subject matter resulted in documents purporting to be classified military documents being posted online. The challenger 2 at the centre of the incident has previously caused controversy among players in the form of a 319-page forum section.
One War Thunder player will have taken his desire for the game to be realistic to the level of obsession, insisting that Challenger 2 is not realistic. The most interesting thing is that the player in question is a former member of the British Army’s Armoured Trials and Development Unit and a Challenger 2 tank driver!
Wrong tank design in War Thunder sparks controversy
The player in question claims that the design of the tank in the game has almost nothing to do with reality, and that the tank is “multiple times weaker against enemy fire than the actual version”. And he’s making his argument so much that he’s allegedly sharing some classified documents about the tank online that he’s supposed to stay in the military.
The documents of this passionate player, who was trying to prove that the design in War Thunder was “wrong”, were also approved by an employee of the UK Ministry of Defence. However, the forum post goes on to warn that the player defending his thesis has been given a serious warning by the authorities for revealing military secrets and could face up to 14 years in prison if he continues to insist on it.
