With Microsoft’s acquisition of Bethesda, the fate of popular Bethesda games on consoles was a matter of curiosity. Rather, it was curious whether the games announced before this purchase would come to PlayStation. In recent months, with Starfield’s official announcement, we learned that the game would be available for PC and Xbox Series, but PlayStation players thought that one day Bethesda might be allowed to release Starfield to PlayStation.
However, Xbox General Manager Aaron Greenberg said in a statement that hopes for this have been dashed.
Greenberg said: “Starfield will be released exclusively on PC and Xbox Series on November 11, 2022. Game Pass subscribers will be able to play the game on both PC and Xbox from day one. We’ve said all this before, there’s been no change in that and it’s never going to happen.”
Greenberg also said in other messages that it’s not a timed exclusive game, it’s going to be marketed as An Xbox exclusive and it’s not going to come to other systems.
Of course, it may be possible to back down from this idea in the future, just as Sony now comes up with plans to bring PlayStation 4 games to PC at least 2 years later, Xbox may make a similar attempt. But at least for now, starfield seems to be the only way to play it, pc and Xbox.
