Microsoft announced free games for Xbox Live Gold subscribers in August 2021.

– Darksiders III: (Available all month round.) Return to the doomed Earth in darksiders III, a hack-n-slash Action Adventure game in which you play FURY in a quest to find and destroy seven Deadly Sins. Fury, the most unpredictable, mysterious member of the Four Horsemen, has to manage to balance something that many have failed, namely the forces that are ravaging the World. Darksiders III is the highly anticipated third game in the critically acclaimed Darksiders series.
– Yooka-Laylee: (16 August to 15 September.) Yooka-laylee is a brand new platformer developed by expert Playtonic.
