Eden Marie, the engineering leader of Xbox consoles, tested a new feature over the weekend. In this test, which included Xbox Insider members, the issue of the boot speed of the consoles was studied. Following the tests, Marie confirmed that the time it takes for the consoles to boot up when completely off is now shorter.
Marie added: “We’ve run several tests on the launch animation and duration on Xbox Series X|S consoles. Our recent Insider tests have been positive, and now consoles will boot up faster than before.”
The shortening of the boot time was also confirmed by Xbox marketing director Josh Munsee. In the Twitter post on the subject, it was stated that the speed of the opening animation was reduced from 9 seconds to 4 seconds.
This new update will be rolled out and tested to all existing Insider users. It will then be transferred to all other console owners as a standard update.
On the other hand, Xbox owners can benefit from this fast boot time if they put their consoles on Energy Saver instead of Standby mode.
Can confirm – worked with @harrisonhoffman and @jakerose27 to create a shorter boot up animation (~4s) from the original boot up animation (~9s), helping to reduce the overall startup time.
