Publisher Ziggurat Interactive has announced the acquisition of more than 80 retro games from developer Rainbow Arts.
The agreement involves Ziggurat adding Render Ranger: R2 to his catalog. Known outside North America as Targa, it is a Super Famicom game that has seen 10,000 copies produced in Japan alone.
Rainbow Arts, based in Germany, was founded in 1984 by Marc Ullrich and Thomas Meiertoberens.
Most of the company’s games were released on commodore 64 and Commodore Amiga consoles.
“Rainbow Arts was the first and iconic European video game publisher of the ’80s and ’90s,” said Michael Devine, business development svp at Ziggurat Interactive.
