Dayz, the zombie-themed survival multiplayer action game developed and published by Bohemia Interactive, has improved and updated itself a lot despite its once cumbersome controls, despite its difficult output with early access. The team improved the character animations in the game, making it faster and more fast-paced, and constantly updating them. In addition to weapons, new maps have been added to the game, and old familiar locations have been fixed and renovated over the years.
Since then, the mod community has worked on a lot of new content. These include new building builds, deeper and more realistic survival mechanics, new zombie variants, and much more. It has shifted the gameplay momentum upwards with the release of tons of creative and unique modes that add new elements to the game. With such a vast catalog of content created by players to choose from, setting up a mod for DayZ can feel a bit challenging and daunting at first.
New modes come to the game almost every week, and some offer more variety than previous modes. Some modes completely overhaul the game and add new mechanics, while some modes bring something new to the game with new items and hardware. Setting up and running all the mods can be a bit of a hassle, but it’s worth adding. If you want to spice up your zombie apocalypse, Community Modes are worth checking out. There are many mods to look at and download, we have compiled some of the prominent modes here. Here is the list:
– The MorePresents Mod
Sometimes you get too bored with the game and want to make changes. That’s where the MorePresents mode comes in. This mode offers a great way to make your adventures in DayZ look more festive with Christmas-themed gifts.
Crafted by Chopper and Jest, this mode includes free gifts around the map in various sizes such as small, medium, and large throughout the map. Inside these colorfully designed boxes are high-level items and more. Larger boxes feature higher-level items. However, there are several landmines scattered around. If you notice this, don’t run towards it.
– Dog Companion
Inspired by Dogmeat from the Fallout series, this mode has a dog to accompany you. When players are bored of playing the game alone, they can take their dear friend with this mode. Now with DayZ-Dog mode, you can take your own canine friend with you and keep an eye on each other in this zombie-filled wasteland.
Developed by user HennySea, there is now a team behind this mode.
DayZ-Dog mode brings you a friendly canine companion who can follow you and attack zombies. There are three different dog breeds to choose from; German Shepherd Dog, Siberian Husky and Czechoslovak Wolfdog. This mode has pretty big dogs to make friends with.
– TES: Tales Of Emerald
The impressive TES: Tales Of Emerald mode developed by Romzet takes the game to another world and allows you to experience the fantasy world of Skyrim. This unique mode incorporates a new area to explore, turning much of DayZ’s mechanics into a Skyrim mechanic.
A 10×10-kilometer map on which you can roam freely as you wish contains four different types of biomes and puts a huge island under your feet. You can explore the world here with books and scrolls left behind. For mod enthusiasts, a class system with a variety of options from warrior to craftsman to wizard and more is also included in this mode. There’s also 50 different skills to choose from to customize your character, a new melee system, and 30 different creatures and monsters to kill. There’s a lot for Skyrim fans to enjoy here.
– No Sprinting Zombies
When DayZ first came out, zombies were notorious by gamers for their high aggressiveness and speed. Zombies could sprint towards you at extraordinary speed and frighten you. With this mode, zombies can no longer run and sprint at a sufficient level. This makes them more dangerous.
Developed by Staiff, this mode slows down players’ gait a bit and gives you more escape and escape. If you are tired of constantly dying and being trapped by zombies running at lightning speed, you can download this free mode from the Steam Workshop.
– The Land Rover Defender
Developed by a mod maker named Tyson, this mod incorporates various tools into the game. Available in five different colours from yellow to grey and even in a special version with the BM logo, these are an off-road vehicle that will keep you safe when exploring new places. In real life, Defender is known for its structure that is difficult to stop and does not bow to difficult terrain conditions. That’s why this is the perfect toolkit for the zombie apocalypse.
With these vehicles, you can get rid of zombie hordes and advance without looking back.
– The Tree House
DayZ’s massive map has plenty of cool spots to preserve, but with this awesome mode from BigGrampa , why not build your own treehouse?
You need to have DayZ Editor Mod installed to use and make this building before you go to buy parts for scaffolding. With it you can organize the game world and place a tree house wherever you want. Just make sure no one explores this place.
– Radioactive Animals
If you don’t see being chased by zombies or shot by enemy players as a threat in DayZ, the Radioactive Animals mode might be for you.
This brutal mode was developed by SneakyPig and added wolves and bears to DayZ’s dark landscapes. These deadly new creatures can be killed for resources and appear in three difficulty levels; Tough, Beast and Juggernaut. high-level bears give more post and meat. However, a more difficult fight awaits you. If you want to do more from DayZ’s Hunting side, Radioactive Animals mode fills the wasteland with more enemies.
– Winter Chernarus
Although the map of Chernarus at DayZ is huge (about 225km), the rolling hills, sparsely populated towns and empty farmhouses can start to repeat themselves and become boring after a while. With the Winter Chernarus mode, you can add a festive arctic vibe to the notorious Eastern European wasteland created by Bohemia Interactive. This mode turns Chernarus’ Autumn into an eternal Winter, with fields and forests turning white. This sparse map is a great way to visually improve and provide a darker atmosphere.
– Working Radio Mod
DayZ can be a quiet game overall. Unless you’re talking to your friends or there’s a PvP gunfight nearby, there will be silences that last too long, and this can make the game world feel empty and boring. But with this radio mode from Yuki, you can entertain your friends and add some background sound to the game.
This simple and small mode adds new songs to the game and plays from behind like a radio. The radios in the cars also ring while traveling, breaking the silence. Thus, your commute to your own place is now accompanied by an entertaining soundtrack. Also, the dots around the map include collectible tapes to reflect old musical nostalgia.
With more radio and more tracks, it makes the game a little more colorful.
– Stalker Anomaly
DayZ takes on the perfect Stalker style at times, and this mode offers more than that. Made by a single-player mod developer, this exciting add-on includes six separate anomalies from the Stalker series that you should avoid in order to survive and incorporates them into the game world.
Abnormalities come with a variety of settings so you can change their position, radius, physics, what drives them, and their damage. So if you want to make your wasteland more dangerous, you can get the job done with Stalker Anomaly Mode . I can say that this mode makes the game a little more scary and tense.
– DayZ Camo Overhaul
DayZ has plenty of outfits to wear, and with each new update, new content is added to the game. From civilian equipment to police and ambulance driver outfits, many outfits are available in DayZ Camo Overhaul mode. Unfortunately the military equipment is a bit boring and has the same look, but I recommend using the DayZ Camo Overhaul mode.
DayZ Camo Overhaul is a mode where you can choose from over 1,600 contents, 49 new camouflage patterns, new face coverings such as headgear (helmet, etc.) and masks. DayZ Camo Overhaul mode adds many options for those who want to showcase their favorite military outfits.
– Alien Invasion
Day Z features a plethora of fun and bizarre creature modes that bring all kinds of different creatures into the forests of Chernarus and beyond. If you want to feel the sci-fi theme a little more, you can add the Alien Invasion mode developed by Cole from the Steam workshop.
This simple and small add-on incorporates a helicopter crash incident into the game. However, this downed helicopter is actually a UFO. In this mode, where an extraterrestrial green light hits your eyes, you can see the plumb – fallen into the terrain. Around the crashed UFO are aliens protecting it. Don’t expect things like beam guns and laser bursts in this mode. The artificial intelligence of aliens also exhibits zombie behavior for normal gameplay. But these creatures are more frightening than zombies. Because it can be a little too scary to see one of the creatures wobbling towards you in the dark.
– CardPack
Day Z is one of those games where there are empty zones where nothing happens while navigating the wilderness. So when you walk around, you can see that there are only trees and barren land. If you’re tired of this situation, why not try CardPack mod developed by JungleT? CardPack mode Pokemon Card makes these long journeys more fun by incorporating your collection into the game.
This unique Mode adds Pokemon cards that you can get and collect in the game. These cards can be safely opened and stored or exchanged in your inventory. In short, it offers you a fun collection. The plugin is still in the early stages, but there are plans for more card packs in the future.
– ZSpawn Selection
Players who have played Day Z for a long time know the Coats of Arms Mode in general. In this mode, players know how painful the system of rebirth after death in the game is. For those who do not know this, after you die, the game drops you off at a random place on the beach of Chernarus. This may not seem bad, but given how wide and similar the map looks, it often takes a long time to figure out exactly where you are.
If you’re playing with your friends and you die, it can take hours to meet your friends again. But with ZSpawn Selection Mode developed by Pattowie, you can get back in the action wherever you want. This handy plugin lets you choose where to come to life, saving you time on such a large map as well.
– Nature Overhaul
Reflecting a zombie apocalypse, Day Z’s maps sometimes don’t feel abandoned or desolate. There are burnt debris here and there, but towns may not give exactly this feeling. After a while, it can be a little annoying to see these surprisingly normal looking places.
However, the Nature Overhaul mode is a mode that will save you from this trouble. If you want to bring the game a little closer to the nature of The Last Of Us, then I recommend downloading the Nature Overhaul Mode developed by Kaffeina. This add-on adds more than 8000 trees, debris, and barricades to the Chernarus map. Thus, the game becomes even more suitable for the theme of apocalypse. Exploring familiar areas in a different way can be a truly exciting experience and visual feast.
– TraderPlus
Sometimes DayZ’s mechanics of survival, throwing objects and shooting zombies can become boring after a while.
This is because you are constantly doing the same things. A great way to add a new economy system that encourages you to buy and sell new items, refresh the game, and add some innovation to the waste featured in Chernarus and Livonia is through the TraderPlus mode.
The TraderPlus mode brings a number of private traders into the game where you can trade equipment and other items. This mode also has a surprisingly deep depth. Because the value of the items varies depending on their quality and rarity. Each trader also comes into play, along with a safe zone that prevents campers from lurking potential traders on the way.
– DayZ Expansion
DayZ is not a perfect game in every sense. Various errors in the game, such as the screen edges being a little rough, are still continuing. But that’s where DayZ Expansion Mode comes in.
This pack completely refreshes Dayz and adds a great deal of new content to the game for a better experience. From improved crafting and base building to updated areas, new vehicles and items, from editing the map to creating custom missions, the game is brought to a huge expanse of time. If you’re looking for something that can liven up your zombie-themed survival experience, I recommend DayZ Expansion mode.
– Namalsk Survival
Although the maps of Chernarus and Livonia are quite large, once you discover them you will realize that there is not much to see. But if you’re looking for a world full of post-apocalyptic threats, the Namalsk Survival map is worth checking out.
This unofficial map was made by a team of mod developers. This mod game with tons of new location, random event, cold ?? adds a fighting system and the mode occasionally receives updates. There’s also a map highlighting all the highlights of this unique cold wasteland. So you can go to the important points as you wish.
