The SM2 project would come to us as a mixture of all Call of Duty games before and will be released for free. The project started to be developed in accordance with this purpose was stopped by Activision. According to the abstract, Activision decided to completely cancel the project.
This statement was made with a post by Twitter user sm2. After the last two years, the team has announced that the project has been cancelled by the Activision decision.
On the other hand, the developers of the sm2 project in April heard that the original Modern Warfare 2 game engine will switch to the Modern Warfare Remastered game engine.
Today, a team member received a Cease & Desist letter on behalf of Activision Publishing in relation to the sm2 project. We are compatible with this order and closeting down all operations. Thank you for your support over the past 2 years.
