The Ukrainian War, which has been going on as a cold war for a long time and broke out in February, affected the game industry in different ways as well as the whole world. From time to time, we have included different news about the status of the studios operating in the region. In the past hours, statements were made that there was a producer who lost his life in the war. According to these statements, Andrii Korzinkin, one of the producers responsible for animation in the 4A Games studio, which we remember with the Metro series , lost his life in the Ukraine war.
Metro producer Andrii Korzinkin killed in Ukrainian war
The name that made the statement on Twitter was another game developer Leonid Stepanov. Stephanov, who worked for the company Remedy, announced the death of Andrii Korzinkin. He also shared some information about the game producer who participated in combat duty in the Ukrainian war. His explanations are as follows;
“Andrii Korzinkin died during a combat mission in Ukraine’s struggle for independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity. He was a talented animator, an amazing person and a true hero. Rest in peace, my friend. We all missed you.
Andri was known for his work at 4AGames in Metro games. He made a lot of quality animations there. Andrii was also inspired by the work of Cory Barlog (director of God of War). He was fascinated by the quality of God of War’s directing and cinematography. But he also liked the path Cory Barlog took because he was an animator at the beginning of his professional journey. So in addition to honing his skills as an animator, Andrii also expanded on other skills that were necessary in game development (design and coding). One day he wanted to create the project of his dreams, which unfortunately is no longer possible.”
